Nigeria Is the Second African Country to Get the BlackBerry Z3 after South Africa

newMast

The BlackBerry Z3 was announced in February and is the first Smartphone made in partnership between BlackBerry and Foxconn. Foxconn is a force to reckon with in the electronics industry having manufacturered of iPhone, iPad, Playstation 4, Xbox One among other.  With these brands under it, we expect the partnership between BlackBerry and Foxconn to be successful.

Back to the BlackBerry Z3, the device was recently launched in Indonesia and India. These are the main markets for BlackBerry and the company did not stop there as it heads to Africa. The first country in Africa to get the Z3 is South Africa. After South Africa, the Z3 will be headed to Nigeria and this is expected to be later this month or early next month.

The partnership between BlackBerry and Foxconn is a five-year deal that will see Foxconn design and produce entry level Smartphones for the emerging markets. These are the markets where BlackBerry has maintained presence even with its rocky few years. Foxconn will also provide the warehousing while BlackBerry will only deal with the software and marketing.

Currently the BlackBerry Z3 is available for pre order on Nigeria’s online retailer Konga.com  for 39,900 Nigerian Naira ($252 USD or Kshs. 22,000).
