The Chromebook market is still small to say the least but it looks like most manufacturers are ready to bet on its growth right now. Chromebook are different from other laptops as they run on Google OS rather than Microsoft.

The latest entrant into this market is Toshiba. The company unveiled their new Chromebook today in an effort to share the Chromebook pie with other manufacturers. This Chromebook will have a 13.3-inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768. It will retail at $279.99 (approximately Kshs. 24, 400).

The device will have Intel’s Celeron processor, 2GB of RAM, 16 GB SSD and 100GB of Google drive cloud storage.  This is not a very bad offer considering the price it is retailing at. According to Toshiba, this device has a good battery that can last up to 9 hours.

According to the company, this Chromebook is ideal for schools and businesses. The company continued to add that the Chromebook will provide “even more choices at very affordable prices.”

We will have to wait until February when this Chromebook launches and see how consumers receive it.
