When it comes to the high-end smartphone market, Apple and Samsung lead the pack and nothing seems to slow these two electronic giants down, recently it was reported that Apple was making a cheaper version of the iPhone 5 but this is yet to be officially confirmed by Apple.

Before Apple even announces the cheaper iPhone 5, there are rumors that the next premium iPhone will be unveiled on June 20 and will be available on retail stores as from July of 2013. The report also added that the low cost iPhone will likely be launched towards the end of the year (sometime in August) and will mainly target the emerging markets.

The current iPhone version, the iPhone 5, was launched in September last year and was available in Kenya as from December of the same year. The iPhone 5 was quite a hit with consumers selling over 2 million units in just 3 days after it was unveiled.

We still don’t know much about the next version on the iPhone as Apple is pretty good when it comes to keeping such information under wrap. As we get closer to June 20, we hope to get more information about the next generation of the iPhone including some of the specs it would pack.
