The Xiaomi Pocophone F1 is one mid-range smartphone that keeps on setting new standards that show us what we should expect from our Android devices. The phone comes with the powerful Snapdragon 845 processor but its price is a fraction of what most devices with this processor are retailing for. This is impressive and shows that even those who want to buy mid-range smartphones can get high end performance.
On Twitter, Jai Mani, Head of Product at Poco confirmed that the phone is scheduled to get “at least” Android 9.0 Pie and Android Q.
We'll do at least P and Q

The Pocophone was launched with Android 8.1 Oreo but we know that the company is working on Android Pie update for it. We have known this for about a month but the company is still testing this version and the final version is yet to roll out. There is still no time frame as to when Android Pie will roll out to the Pocophone but that should be happening anytime from today.
Android Pie is not the only major update Pocophone users should expect. The phone will also get Android Q next year. Committing to two major Android updates is impressive and even though some other manufacturers have done it before, we just never see them committing this early.
Here in Kenya, the Pocophone is yet to officially launch but Xiaomi official dealers had indicated that the phone will be launched in the country this month so now all we can do is wait.
