Facebook Is Updating Its Notification Tab to Make It Look More like Google Now

Facebook

Facebook is about to update its Android and iOS apps to give it more of a Google Now look. The company has announced that it is updating its notifications tab for users on these platforms for better user experience. According to Facebook, the new notifications table will contain important information and can be expanded to show personal data and any other relevant information such as weather and news.

If you have used Google Now before, then you know what this means and you have a rough idea on how it will look like. With the popularity of Google Now and especially Google Now cards, you will not be wrong to say Facebook copied what Google did.

Some of the information you should expect to see on the new notification tab includes friends’ birthdays and life events. These will not be displayed as they are on Facebook right now but will look more like what you see on Google Now. You will also be able to see upcoming events making sure you do not miss any important events.

With this new notifications tab, users will be able to customize it based on location to make sure they get location based notifications such as local news, events and weather updates. Just like Google Now, users will also be able to add more cards to their notifications based on what they like.
