Qualcomm: Smartphone Manufacturers Are Really Interested In the Snapdragon 820 Processor

The Qualcomm snapdragon 810 processor was criticized when it hit the market as some smartphone manufacturers argued that it had overheating issues. One of those manufacturers is Samsung which ended up using its own Exynos processor on its flagship devices instead of the Snapdragon 810.

Well, Qualcomm will soon be unveiling the Successor to the Snapdragon 810, the Snapdragon 820 processor. The Snapdragon 820 will obviously be better than its predecessor and my hope is that Qualcomm deals with the overheating issue once and for all.

The Snapdragon 820 will be one of the most important processors from the company. Some smartphone manufacturers are already interested in this processor even though nothing official has been announced.

According to a report from China, Qualcomm’s President Frank Meng has revealed that multiple manufacturers have expressed interest in the Snapdragon 820 processor and at least 30 smartphones which are in the planning and design phases will have the Snapdragon 820 powering them.

The report did not mention the manufacturers but obviously these will be the top smartphone manufacturers excluding Samsung. Qualcomm will start sending the Snapdragon 820 samples to manufactures as early as next month
