The most unique thing about the Xperia Z5 Premium is that it currently is the world’s first smartphone with a 4K display. If this display makes any difference or if it is even needed is the biggest concern most people have at the moment.
Still on the display, the Xperia Z5 Premium has a 5.5 inch one with a resolution of 2160 x 3840 pixels. This translated to a pixel density of over 800ppi. This beats the Samsung Galaxy S6 that until yesterday had the highest Pixel density of 577ppi. If the extra pixel density makes any difference is still unknown at the moment.
Premium Design
The Sony Xperia Z5 premium has Sony’s stylish design that we have come to see on most high end Xperia devices. The ‘frosted’ glass and metallic frame gives the phone a premium feel that grabs attention anytime.
The curved edges also contribute to the premium feel of the Xperia Z5 Premium. The phone, just like the Xperia Z5, has a fingerprint scanner which is embedded on the power button. This makes it quite different from other smartphones on the market with fingerprint scanners below the displays or even at the back.
Powerhouse
The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor (Octa Core). The phone also has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space. If this is not enough for you, there is a microSD card slot that can expand the memory further.
Camera
Sony is known for its high performance cameras and the Xperia Z5 Premium is not any different. On this phone, there is a 23MP camera with the company’s own Exmor RS sensor which has the world’s fastest 0.03s autofocus. This is Sony’s key selling point for this device.
Battery
The Xperia Z5 Premium has a 3,430 mAh battery that am sure will be enough for the 5.5 inch 4K panel. Sony claims that this battery can last for up to 2 days.
Price and Availability
The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium will be available as from November 2015 but the company has not revealed its retail price. We will update you on that as we get the information.
