Yesterday, Sony unveiled three new devices for the Xperia Z5 family. These are the Sony Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 compact and the Xperia Z5 Premium. The Xperia Z5 Premium is the biggest of the three and comes with a 4K display. The Xperia Z5 Compact on the other hand has a smaller screen making it perfect for those who do not want smartphones with bigger screens.
All the three Z5 devices Sony has announced have very similar specs and the different sizes (and 4K display for the Z5 Premium) are what differentiate them. In this article, we will be looking at the Xperia Z5 Compact.
Compact For Better Portability
The Xperia Z5 Compact comes with a 4.6 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. In a world filled with phablets and smartphones with bigger screens, the Xperia Z5 Compact has managed to grab my attention.

Do not let the small size fool you as this smartphone comes with some amazing specs that will ensure its performance is not compromised. It is powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor which is the same one on the Xperia Z5 and the Xperia Z5 Premium. The phone has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space which can be expanded using a microSD card.

The Xperia Z5 Compact will come with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The phone will also support 4G LTE connectivity (cat. 6). Providing all the power to this phone is a 2700mAh battery that am sure will last for quite some time given the small screen size.
Not a Compact Camera
Just because the Xperia Z5 Compact is a small device does not mean that its camera is not the best. Sony has included the same 23MP camera you will find on all the other devices in the Xperia Z5 family. This camera has the Exmor RS sensor with what Sony says has the world’s fastest autofocus.
Price and Availability
Sony has not revealed the pricing and availability of the Xperia Z5 Compact but expect it to hit retail stores before the end of the year. The company did not reveal its price but we will update you on that when we get the information.
The Xperia Z5 Compact will be available in Graphite Black, White, Yellow, and Coral.
