Mobile displays have seen major changes that last few years. We have been seeing manufacturers pushing the limits with their displays. The debate about the importance of higher resolution displays is hard to settle as some people say they are important while others do not see the need for such.

Samsung is not about to sit and wait for the debate to be settled as the company is already working on an 11K display to be used on mobile devices.

Samsung has partnered with 13 other companies and the South Korean government to produce the 11K display. This display will have a pixel density of 2250ppi. To put it into perspective, picture this, the Samsung Galaxy S6 has a pixel density of 577 ppi.

The Korean government is willing to invest over $26 million into Research and development of this new display.

According to Samsung, this kind of display and pixel density will allow for the production of VR experiences without any pixelization. Samsung is hoping to have this display out by the end of 2018. This is a very short time but the company is hopeful that it will meet the deadline.
