Sony has finally decided to give some Xperia owners some good news. The company has released a list of the Xperia Smartphones that will be getting Android 5.1 Lollipop as from July this year. With only 12% of all Android devices running on the latest version (Lollipop), getting the support of OEMs like Sony will definitely help the numbers grow. It is important to note that some Xperia devices are already running Android 5.0 Lollipop (the original version).

Sony is not known for pushing the latest updates on time but it looks like things will change from now on. The Xperia Smartphones that will be getting Android 5.1 Update by next month include:
- Xperia Z Series
- Xperia Z1 Series
- Xperia Z2 Series
- Xperia Z3 Series
- Xperia ZL
- Xperia ZR
- Xperia Tablet Z
- Xperia T2 Ultra
- Xperia C3
- Xperia M2
- Xperia M2 Aqua
This will be an Over The Air (OTA) update that will start rolling to those using the Xperia Z series with the others following thereafter.
