Five Things You Need to Know about Facebook’s Video Calling Feature

Facebook

Facebook Messenger video calling feature is now available in almost every country. This is a big improvement for Facebook but besides that there is also a video calling feature available for those on pc. Below we will be looking at five things you should know about this feature

What is Video calling

With this feature, you can make calls from Facebook without using any additional programs. To do this, all you have to do is click in the upper-right corner of a conversation to start a video call. At this point, you can only make phone calls to people who are also using Facebook messenger and not to landlines or mobile phones. Calls are not saved or recorded.

Voice-only Calls

With the video calling feature, you can turn off the video and make voice calls only. To turn off the video feature during a call, just click on the camera icon at the bottom of the screen.

No Multiple calls

At this point, you can only make one phone call at a time. This means that no group video chats but hopefully Facebook will change this in the future.

Call can be made even without a camera

Even if you do not have a camera on your computer, you will still be able to make video calls. You will be able to see the people you are chatting with but they will only hear you and not see you.

Supported browsers

The feature is only available for three browsers at the moment. These are Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Opera. You may want to update your browser if it is not working for you. Support for other browser will be available in the future.
