Microsoft has for the last few months been actively unveiling new Smartphones targeting the lower end part of the market. These Smartphones including the Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 532, Lumia 435 among others are perfect for users getting their first smartphones or those who want to try out Windows Phone . Some of these devices are not yet available for purchase but the ones that are seem to be doing very well according to the stats Microsoft has just released.
Microsoft has revealed that it has sold over 8.6 million Lumia devices for the first three months of 2015. This new figures represent a growth of 18% from the same period last year. Compared to the previous quarter (the last quarter of 2014) the sales are down by 18%.
Apart from the Lumia Smartphones, Microsoft also saw positive results from its feature phones. The company managed to sell over 24.7 feature phones for the first three months of 2015. This is quite positive given that feature phones are very popular in most emerging markets such as Kenya.
