Acer is well known for its computers and not it’s Smartphones. The company has been one of the leading manufacturers of laptops and desktop PCs for years and wants to change this by moving to the Smartphone sector. Acer has tried it luck in the Smartphone sector before but has not been able to replicate the success it has witnessed in the laptop/ desktop market.
According to a report by Focus Taiwan, Acer has not given up and will try it luck in the Smartphone sector again. The report went ahead to indicate that Acer will next week, at Mobile World Congress (MWC 2015), unveil its first Windows 10 Smartphone.
Keep in mind that Windows 10 will not be released till later this year. So if Acer’s Smartphone is powered by Windows 10, expect to see it in stores at the start of the second half of the year.
The report has not mentioned ay specs this Smartphone will have but it will more likely be an entry level or mid range device and not a premium one.
In addition to this, Acer will also be unveiling a new Android tablet at MWC next week.
