The Infinix Hot Note Is Now Available In Kenya and It’s Selling Exclusively On Jumia

unnamed1

After the successful launch of the Infinix Hot X507 in Kenya, the company is back again with another Smartphone, the Infinix Hot Note X551. The Smartphone is selling exclusively on Jumia Kenya.

The Infinix Hot Note X551 has a 5.5-inch display, 16GB memory, an 8MP main camera and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. No news of Android 5.0 Lollipop update.

Introducing this new Smartphone comes after Jumia and Infinix signed an agreement given the instant success of the Infinix X507. The X507 was very successful and Jumia MD Parinaz Firozi referred to the sales as “staggering”. Am not sure exactly how many units were sold but they were obviously many. At one point, someone inside Jumia that the units were sold out and they had to order new ones. My source tells me that multiple times, customers ordered for the units that had to be imported before being shipped to them. The Infinix X507 is retailing at Ksh 6,999.

On the other hand, the Infinix Note X551 is retailing at Ksh. 9,999. With this price, you will be getting a 4000 mAh battery with quick charging support, 1GB of RAM and a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor from MediaTek. Am not sure how good this particular processor is.

I have not tested this Smartphone so am in no way recommending it to anyone. I will have to get the device and test it myself before recommending it (or not).

Jumia seems to be focusing on new Smartphone entrants at the expense of the established brands. A few days ago, the company introduced the Innjoo branded Smartphones and tablets in  Kenya. I had never heard of these devices until I saw a press release from Jumia and so again, I will not recommend them to anyone just yet.
