Apple Hopes to sell 71.5 million Iphones during the Holiday Season

Some time back i saw a tweet that ridiculed the Sony Xperia Z3 that it sold less than 200 Z3’s during a weekend of its launch, while Apple sold 10 million of the Iphone 6 variants during its launch. It made me wonder why are consumers going after such expensive products from Apple, while tech and mobile developers are coming up with smart phones that would go head on and match with the I phone 6.

Samsung too fell a victim of Apples success and has been coming with various strategies to cope with the competition and market wars Apple seems to have already won. Some recent strategies include reduction of Samsung models phones which its notable that in 2014 alone Samsung had launched almost 52 unique smart phones into the market. The strategy aims at concentrating on few smart phones and ensuring top class marketing and performance of the smart phones.

According to KGI Research analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Cupertino-based company will sell a whopping 82% this quarter compared to last.In total, Kuo believes Apple will put 71.5 million iPhones in the hands of consumers this quarter and could climb even higher if the supply chain holds up. If the estimates pan out, it would represent 40 percent year over year growth.

Under current circumstances, Kuo expects the iPhone 6 to account for nearly 60 percent of all sales during the quarter, or roughly 41.65 million units sold. The I phone 6 checks in with 15 million units sold while the 5S, 5C and 4S are expected to collectively account for 14.75 million units sold.
