Samsung has finally unveiled its highly publicised ‘selfie phone’, the Galaxy Grand Prime. This is a new affordable Smartphone that has been spotted around but has never been officially unveiled till now.
Since it is a ‘selfie phone’, the Galaxy Grand Prime has a 5MP wide-angle front facing camera that Samsung say is perfect for capturing selfies or groupfies. The back camera is an 8MP one with LED flash and 1080p video recording capabilities.
Other features of the Galaxy Grand Prime include a 5-inch display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. It will measure144.8 x 72.1 x 8.6 mm and weigh 156 grams. Under the hood, this Smartphone has a 1.2 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage space that can be expanded using a MicroSD card. It will run on the latest Android version, Android 4.4 KitKat and power will be provided by a 2600 mAh battery.
This Smartphone will first head to India as from this week where it will be retailing at $250 (approximately Kshs. 22,300). Other market including Kenya may get it in the next few weeks.
