Flipboard is one of my most favourite apps and I have been using it everyday for over a year now. The good thing about Flipboard is that it is easy to use and light at the same time. Flipboard is a Magazine style news reader that gives you the latest news from the top websites in the world. The posts are divided into categories for easy access.
Flipboard has been available on all the major Mobile platforms (Android, iOS and BlackBerry) except Windows Phone. This is about to change as the company expects the full version of the app to hit the Windows Phone store very soon. The app has been available on the Windows store for a while now but only in beta mode.
For those who had a chance to test the Lumia 730 and Lumia 830, you will have noticed the Flipboard app on their respective homescreens. These are the beta versions of the apps and the full version is coming soon. Personally am excited with this as for a while now i have been planning to shift to windows Phone and it will be great if my favourite app is there.
Flipboard said, “We are working on a Windows Phone version of Flipboard. While we don’t have an exact date for you, it’s on our roadmap and should be available soon.”
Flipbioard has been working on a windows phone version of its app since June last year but it took a whole year for us to see something substantial. Flipboard was first designed for the iPad before it was revamped for smaller screens. Its Android app was first available exclusively on the Samsung Galaxy S III before going mainstream to all other devices.
In order to use Flipboard, your device should have 1GB of RAM, this clearly eliminates devices such as the Nokia Lumia 520.
