LG G Watch R Is the First Smartwatch with a Truly Round Display

LG G WATCH R1

Competition in the Smartwatch sub-sector is heating up with manufacturers trying their luck to be the first to take these devices mainstream. Before yesterday, the Moto 360 was the most stylish Smartwatch we have ever seen but it seems Motorola is about to get some serious competition from LG. This is because of the new LG G Watch R that was unveiled yesterday. The G watch R takes from the LG G Watch that did not have anything to write home about.

The G watch R is different from other smartwatches in the market and looks more like a stylish sports watch. It has a perfectly round display that makes it stand out. The screen is a 1.3-inch Plastic OLED with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels. LG says that this kind of display provided “stunning image clarity” even under direct sunlight.

Inside the round frame, the LG G Watch R will have a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor, 512 MB of RAM and 4GB of internal space. This Smartwatch will be powered by a 410 mAh battery under the stainless steel frame. The G Watch R will be IP67-certified meaning that is will be water and dust resistant. Included in this Smartwatch are a number of fitness apps to monitor your heart rate.
