Buni TV becomes Buni.tv and launches new player and updated website

unnamed

Top African video-on-demand platform Buni TV has evolved its name and logo to match its URL and become Buni.tv.

“This evolution was necessary to make Buni.tv’s destination clearer and easier for our users to find. The name Buni.tv also puts the emphasis on the fact that we are an online service,” said Buni.tv CEO Marie Lora-Mungai.

The VOD service, which recently launched its $5/month premium service Buni+, is also releasing an updated version of its site today, with a simplified menu. Videos are now classified as MOVIES, SERIES or MUSIC VIDEOS, and Buni.tv is premiering KIDS, a space dedicated to children’s content. Movies are now further organized into genres like Comedy, Action or Romance, making it easier for users to discover and watch new content that matches their tastes.

The new player is responsive adjusting to users device screen size automatically and comes with a new feature that gives users more control on the quality of video they’d like to watch based on their internet speed.

In the past few months Buni.tv launched its premium service Buni+, giving its users access to some of the best films and TV from across the continent for $5/month. It also made headlines with its new original Nigerian satirical show OGAS AT THE TOP , which went viral with over 1 million views to date.
