Fingerprint sensors on Smartphones have not been around for long but they are catching on fast with companies such as Apple and Samsung getting on board. Apple was the first to jump in with the iPhone 5S with Samsung following suit with its current flagship,  Galaxy S5.

Samsung is not done with the fingerprint sensor agenda as news has surfaced indicating that the next Smartwatch from Samsung will have it. This is according to Rick Bergman who is the CEO of Synaptics, the company that provided sensors for the Galaxy S5 and the Samsung Z.

Mr. Bergman did not reveal the exact Smartwatch or wearable device that will have the fingerprint scanner but said it will be arriving as early as next year.

Having a fingerprint scanner on a Smartwatch opens up new doors giving as even greater opportunities for the Smartwatch makers and users. With the fingerprint scanner, we may be able to make mobile payments on the go with our smartwatches.
