Airtel has introduced a self-help PIN reset service that will enable its Airtel Money customers to reset their Account access PINs instantly.

Airtel Money users will now be able to conveniently change their PIN from their handsets without contacting the call Centre. Customers will be required to register a secret word with Airtel Money in advance that will be used to validate future PIN reset requests.

Customers will be required to dial the USSD code *222*9# to register the secret word and follow the procedure. They will be able to reset their Airtel Money PIN by entering the secret word previously registered with Airtel Money. This can be done by following the procedure that’s available when they dial *222*9#. The service also offers customers the opportunity to change their secret words.

While announcing the new service, Airtel Kenya managing director Adil El Youssefi said, “We are delighted to unveil this new service that will enhance the convenience of accessibility and superior experience for our Airtel Money subscribers.” He gave his assurance that Airtel Kenya will remain committed to continuous improvement of its service delivery through unique innovative solutions to the delight of its customers.

Airtel Money provides e-commerce solutions including online banking, utility bill payments for electricity, DSTV, ZUKU, and water. Airtel Money also allows customers to withdraw money at all VISA and Kenswitch enabled ATMs countrywide and also pay for goods at VISA merchants using the recently launched Airtel Money VISA card.
