Sony has had a tough couple of years trying to turn a profit from the gadgets it sells. The company has seen improved sales on its Xperia brand but dismal figures on most of its other electronics resulting to poor sales numbers combined. The last financial year ending March 2014 saw the company lose over $1.2 billion in what was one of the worst years for the Japanese electronics company. This is quite a huge and significant figure that seems to push the company and its executives to the edge.

The bad news may not be over for the executives as the company is predicting a loss of $489 for the current financial year ending March 2015. This may be bad news for the company but at least it is somewhat of an improvement from previous years.

On the Smartphone scene, Sony is in a good place it is reported that it sold close to 40 Million Xperia Smartphones last year. This may be a small number compared to other manufactures such as Samsung and Apple but it still represents a 20% increase year-over-year. The playstation 4 is also saw improved sales last year and is expected to be another gadget that will help reduce the company’s losses this year.

Below is a video of one of Sony’s latest device the Xperia Z2, enjoy!
