Kenya’s leading telecommunication company has finally joined the likes of Airtel, Jumia and Duka1 and is taking pre-orders of Samsung’s current flagship, the Galaxy S5. Safaricom’s move comes less than 24 hours after Airtel announced their pre-order plan that includes 1.75GB of data and an optional Gear fit (at an additional cost).
Airtel is offering their Galaxy S5 with the Gear fit at Kshs. 89,999. If you choose not to get the Gear fit, you will still be able to get it at Kshs. 69,999.
Safaricom on the other hand is offering the Galaxy S5 plus the Gear fit at Kshs. 74,999. This is quite a bargain if you ask me. In addition to this Safaricom is also offering 3GB of data. According to Safaricom, you will be saving Kshs. 21,999 by pre-ordering through them. Kshs. 21,999 is essentially the price of the Gear fit meaning that Safaricom is throwing in the Gear fit free with every pre-order.
