Motorola announces the Moto 360- The best Looking Smartwatch

Forget everything you know about Motorola. Forget their past subpar Smartphones that almost drove the company to the”once successful companies” archives.

Ok great, since you have all forgotten about the company’s past as am going to introduce you to the Moto 360- the best-looking Smartwatch you have ever seen. Who said smartwatches have to be boring? Well if someone did. Motorola did not get that memo as the Moto 360 isn’t even close to boring, it’s a game changing timepiece. The Smartwatch was announced late last night (Kenyan time) just as Google unveiled their Android SDK for developers.

Am not a big fan of smartwatches but when I saw the photos of the Moto 360 I was taken aback. I mean this is a great timepiece and as Android Central said, “it is a truly modern timepiece first and Smartwatch second”. Motorola said that the Smartwatch is a “reinvention of the modern timepiece” and they were not wrong.

Most smartwatches in the market have rectangular form factors but the Moto 360 has a circular display. Looking at this Smartwatch you will not be mistaken to think that it’s a normal timepiece from a company such as Omega and the likes. Yes, this Smartwatch is that good. Really good that I would definitely get one when it hits the stores.

The Moto 360 will have a metallic casing and will be available in a “selection of styles” according to Motorola.  It will also come with “Ok Google” and some motion based gesture controls.

Motorola has not said much about the Smartwatch but it will probably be available in the stores later on this year. The company will be having a live Google+ Hangout event at 9PM local time tonight to probably discuss availability, price among other things. I will attend the Hangout event to keep you posted on the latest news and developments concerning g the Moto 360.

What are your thoughts on this Smartwatch? Will you be getting one? Share with us in the comments section below.
