
An Indian Smartphone maker, Karbonn Mobiles, is planning to unveil the first dual-boot Smartphone running both Windows Phone OS and Android OS. the device that will be unveiled later this year will be the first of its kind and it will be interesting to see how good or bad it is.
Just recently, Microsoft announced 9 new hardware partners to join the Windows Phone platform and Karbonn Mobiles was one of the companies. The company will join the likes of Lenovo, LG, ZTE, Foxconn, Gionee, JSR, Lava (Xolo) and Longcheer. All these companies combined make 56% of the global Smartphone market.
Speaking to The Times of India, Karbonn chairman Sudhir Hasija announced that the company plans unveil the dual-OS Smartphone by June of this year. He continued to say, “Microsoft has eased the regulations and is opening up its platform for other players.”
Not much about these upcoming Smartphones has been unveiled but it is believed to be targeting “office-going professionals and ‘techies.'”
