Sony Xperia Z2 Sees The Light Of Day

Back in January, we showed you some leaked images of what was rumoured to be the Xperia Z2. After all the rumours and leaks, the Xperia Z2 has been unveiled officially by Sony at Mobile World Congress.

The Xperia Z2 resembles its predecessor, the Xperia Z1 in more ways than one with a few hardware and software improvements. The most noticeable changes on the Xperia Z2 is the new IPS-based “Triluminos” display that was not there on the Xperia Z1. The Z2 also has a bigger 5.2 inch screen compared to the 5.0 inch of the Z1.

Some of the confirmed specs for the Xperia Z2 are as listed below:

  •     5.2-inch Full HD LED display (1920 x 1080) with TRILUMINOS and X-Reality technology

  •     2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor
  •     3GB of RAM
  •     20.7MP camera
  •     4K video capture (3840×2160 pixels/30p) with SteadyShot image stabiliization
  •     Digital noise-cancelling technology (can reduce up to 98% of ambient noise)
  •     3200 mAh battery
  •     IP55/IP58 rating – waterproof and dustproof
  •     4G LTE support
  •     Android 4.4 KitKat

The device will be available globally as from next month but we still do not have any detail about its retail price.
