Huawei is one company that has made a lot of noise at Mobile World congress even before the event launches officially. The company has already unveiled two mid range tablets, the MediaPad X1 and the M1. To further expand its portfolio, the company has unveiled a super slim Smartphone, the Huawei G6.

Although the Ascend G6 is a little thicker than the Huawei P6 that was launched mid last year, it is still a thin Smartphone by all standards with a 7.85mm-thick frame.

The Ascend G6 has a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 960×540 giving out 245 pixels-per-inch. The G6 is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core processor with a 2000mAh battery at the back. An 8 Megapixel camera a Sony IMX134 sensor sits at the back of the phone with a 5 Megapixel front shooter with an 88-degree wide-angle lens perfect for all you “selfie” enthusiasts.

There will be both 3G and 4G enabled versions of this device with the latter able to get speeds of up to 150 Mbps.

The 4G Ascend G6 will be loaded with Emotion UI 2.0, a custom user interface that offers “Standard” and “Simplicity” modes with unique features like multi-shot photo capture, a selfie preview screen, a voice-activated camera mode and over 1,000 downloadable themes.

The 4G version will be available as from April this year in black with grey and rose gold highlights, or white with pink or champagne gold highlights. The 3G only version on the other hand will be available in black, white, pink, gold and blue colour options. Pricing for the Ascend G6 is $345 (approximately Kshs. 30,000).
