After a good number of leaks and rumours about it, the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is finally out. In terms of design, the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite will be very similar to the previous Tab 3 devices. The device’s main selling point is its price of $200 (approximately Kshs. 17 000).
This will be a 7-inch LCD tablet is almost 10mm thick with a resolution of 1024x600p with a pixel density of just 169ppi. According to Samsung, this is an “optimal resolution designed to bring users a better viewing experience”.
Under the hood, the device will be powered by a dual core processor with speeds of 1.2 GHz. It will have 1GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card. It will initially run an Android 4.2 which will presumably be updated later on.
The Galaxy Tab Lite 3 will be available in two variants, 3G and Wi-Fi versions. Both these variants will have 2 Megapixel back facing camera and a 3,600-mAh battery. The bad news is you will be stuck with TouchWiz as the Tab 3 Lite will not get the new Magazine UX interface that Samsung unveiled recently at CES on this device.
The Galaxy Tab 3 Lite will be available worldwide in white or black.
