One of Kenya’s leading Corporate Internet and IT solutions provider, AccessKenya, is in the process of rolling out a network optimization plan that will see the company deliver high-speed internet to its customers this year. The company said this in a statement that it released; the company continued to say that the network optimization process began late last year and will continue for the next 12 months.
Cyril Oluoch who is the Group’s Network Manager said that the company plans to increase its bandwidth from the current 200Mbps to 1Gbps.The company is hoping to get and comfortably accommodate some new customers with all this bandwidth.
Mr. Oluoch also said that this move is part of a larger plan that the company has employed to bolster internet connectivity in most regions of this country to meet demand for Corporate WAN services.
The company is in the process of converting their Base stations to fiber optic links and at the moment, about 20 of these Base Stations have already been converted since the process started in December 2012.
