Facebook is undoubtedly one of the most popular websites at the moment but even though the site is popular, their current timeline is far from popular if you ask most of the regular users of the site. The current timeline is not the very user friendly and its complications have made the timeline very unpopular with users. Facebook is aware of this and is in the process of redesigning it with an aim of offering a better user experience.
The new design layout seems very organized and clean as status updates and all other messages from friends are displayed on the left hand side of the page. The left side of the page has been made bigger and this clearly shows that much attention is given to the messages on the timeline.
The right side of the timeline is dedicated to display your Friend list, recent activity and other non message related updates.
There is some bad news though because you will no longer be able to stretch your highlighted posts across the page with this new design.
The new design looks very clean and tidy as some of the boxes that usually link to Friends, Photos and Likes have been placed in a menu that ensures each of them is displayed separately when clicked. In an attempt to keep personal details private, the relationship information has been removed from the header.
The redesign was first announced in October last year and currently is available in New Zealand but we expect other countries to follow soon.
