Huawei Vision and Huawei Ascend G300 now available in Kenya

At last there is some good news if you happen to Huawei’s range of mobile devices because earlier today Huawei announced two of its smartphones will be available officially in Kenya. The two devices are the Huawei vision and the Huawei Ascend G300. The Huawei Vision was announced in late 2011, weighs about 121g, has 1 GB of internal memory, 512 MB RAM and 2 GB of ROM. The phone comes with 5MP rear facing camera and has a front facing camera. The Huawei Vision has a display of 480 x 800 pixels with Multitouch capabilities.

On the other hand, the Huawei Ascend G300 was announced in February 2012 and was officially released on May 2012. The Ascend G300 has a display of 480 x 800 pixels with Multitouch capabilities and weighs approximately 140g. The Ascend G300 has an internal memory of 4GB and 512 MB of RAM. The phone’s rear facing camera has 5MP and has both autofocus and LED flash. The lack of a front facing camera on this phone makes it less appealing to us.

Comparing the Huawei Vision and the Huawei Ascend G300 reveals a number of differences and similarities between the two phones. To start with, both devices come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread; both phones have dedicated volume keys on the left side. The two devices also have a Capacitive Multitouch screen with a light sensor and a proximity sensor. Both devices come with a single core processor with 1000 MHZ although the processor on the Huawei Vision is a Scorpion processor while the one on the Ascend is an ARM Cortex-A5. The two devices support Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi connectivity.

When it comes to the differences, the Huawei vision is a little bit lighter and smaller when compared to the Ascend G300. The battery life of the Huawei Vision lasts longer (approximately 6 hours of talk time) compared to the Ascend that lasts about 5 hours of talk time. The Huawei Ascend comes with an enhanced Adreno 200 graphics processor while the Huawei Vision has Adreno 205 graphics processor.

The Huawei vison is retailing at KES  17 999 and this comes with a 4 GB memory card while the Ascend G300 retails at KES 18 999 and includes a free protective cover.

so which of the two phones would you rather get, tell us in the comments.
