Nokia Lumia 800 and Lumia 900 to be launched next week in Kenya [Updated]

With the launch of windows phone 8 a few weeks ago, most people have began paying attention to the windows range of mobile phones and if you are one such individual, then there is some good news for you because Midcom East Africa is about to launch two amazing windows supported mobile phones.

 

 

The two devices are the Nokia Lumia 800 and the Nokia Lumia 900 mobile phones. Let us first look at some of the specs of these devices;

To start the Lumia 800, it weighs around 142g with the following dimensions 116.5 x 61.2 x 12.1 mm. It has an AMOLED capacitive Multitouch touch screen that has approximately 225-ppi pixel density with a display of 480 x 800 pixels. The phone has a 16GB internal memory with a 512 MB RAM. It packs an 8MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus and dual-LED flash. The only drawback is that it does not have a secondary camera. When it comes to the operating system, it has Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 Mango with a 1.4 GHz Scorpion CPU. For messaging, it supports threaded view SMS, MMS, Email, Push Email and IM. The phone has a Standard battery with Li-Ion 1450 mAh  with an amazing battery life of up to 13 hours of talk time when using a 2G network and about 9 hours when on a 3G network.

The Lumia 900 on the other hand is a little bigger and thinner at 127.8 x 68.5 x 11.5 mm and weighing about 160g. It also has an AMOLED capacitive Multitouch touch screen with 16M colors and has a display size of about 480 x 800 pixels with about 217-ppi pixel density. Just like the Lumia 800, it has a 16GB internal memory with 512 MB RAM. The Lumia 900 has an 8MP camera with autofocus and dual-LED flash. Unlike the Lumia 800, the Lumia 900 has a 1 MP secondary camera. The phone has Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system with a 1.4 GHz Scorpion CPU. Its battery life is a little bit lower that the Lumia 800 as it can last for up to 7 hours of talk time on both the 2G and 3G networks.

Both phones support 2G, 3G and Wi-Fi networks and they have GPS capabilities. They also have Corning Gorilla Glass for screen protection. They also come in a range of four colors, Black, cyan, white and magenta.

The Lumia 900 will be retailing at kshs. 47000
