Samsung officially launched their new smartphone, the Samsung galaxy note II in Africa on the 18th of October. The phone was launched at the Cape Town International Convention Center in south Africa as part of the Galaxy note II world tour.
The samsung galaxy note II runs on android 4.1 jelly bean which is an update from its predecessor the galaxy note I. The success of te galaxy note I is belived to have motivated samsung electronics to launch the galaxy note II, the galaxy note I sold over 10 million devices world wide since its launch last year.
The galaxy note II has a width of 80.5mm, a height of 151.1mm, with a diameter of 9.4mm and is 182.5g in weight. The screen is about 140.9mm with a resolution of 1280×720 with HD sAMOLED display that can record upto 30fps . The screen is slightly larger than the galaxy note I that was approximately 134.62mm in length. The galaxy note II also has as S-pen just like its predecessor. The S-pen has new stylus features such as the quick command used for guesture-based shortcuts.
when it comes to network and wireless connectivity, the galaxy note II uses HSPA+21, EDGE / GPRS (850 / 900 / 1,800 / 1,900MHZ, WiFi a/b/g/n HT4, USB 2.0 HOST, MHL and Bluetooth technology v 4.0 (Apt-X Codec support) LE. The Note II also features a 3.5mm Stereo Earjac, a MicroSD External Memory Slot (Upto 64GB, Micro USB (5.0V, 2A) and Mobile High-Definition Link(MHL).
The Note II also has a 1.6Ghz quad-core Exynos processor and packs 2GB of RAM.
The Note II also features two cameras, one in the front and one in the back, the rear-facing camera is 8 megapixels while the front facing camera (sensor) is 1.9 megapixels. The camera also has Auto Focus features and Flash-LED.
The phone has a 3,100mAh Batterythat can be charged using the USBand can stay Upto 35h on a 2G network and 16h when using a 3G network.
