
Even if you are an avid Facebook user, you have probably never felt pressure to fill out the About Me section on Facebook –well, that may soon change.
Recently some of the Facebook users have started noticing a percentage meter that encouraged them to fill their profiles completely. Filling out areas such as where they work, their current city and where they are from resulted in a higher percentage. Once at 100% the profile is termed as complete.
This is seen as a way to potentially improve ad-targeting features that Facebook provides. The personal information that will be added will provide advertisers with extra information to target specific regions, ages and demographics. Earlier this month, Facebook a feature similar to that gave users a chance to “want” a product. All these changes are ways for Facebook to seek even more advertisement opportunities from advertisers that target specific audiences.
