Five Things You Should Know About the Infinix Hot 6 Pro

Infinix Hot 6 pro screen

Last week, Infinix officially unveiled the Hot 6 Pro smartphone in Kenya. This is the latest device from the company that is available in Kenya. We already did an unboxing of this phone and you can check that out here. In this post, I will list down five things you should know about the Infinix Hot 6 Pro.

First Infinix Smartphone in Kenya in 2018

The Infinix Hot 6 Pro is the first smartphone from the company to be launched in Kenya in 2018. Earlier in the year, we saw the Infinix Hot S3 in Nigeria but it never made its way to Kenya. The Hot S3 and Hot 6 Pro have a lot of similarities but they are different devices. We are still not sure why the Hot S3 never made its way to Kenya but we are glad the Hot 6 Pro is here.

The wait for worth it as the Infinix Hot 6 Pro is an interesting phone. I do have a review unit and will have the full review in a couple of weeks so check out for that.

18:9 Aspect Ratio

The Infinix Hot 6 Pro has the 18:9 aspect ratio which means that it is twice as tall as it is wide. This has been the trend in the smartphone market and Infinix does not want to be left behind. With this aspect ratio, the company managed to fit a 6-inch display without it feeling too big. You get a bigger screen that does not feel out of place.

Powered By Snapdragon 425 Processor

Infinix has always used MediaTek processors on its devices and this has not gone so well with everyone. There are people who were not happy that the company stuck with MediaTek and they wanted that to change.

Well, the company has finally decided to go with a Snapdragon processor on the Infinix Hot 6 Pro. The Infinix Hot S3 also had a snapdragon processor but as I have said above, that phone never made its way into the country. The processor used on the Infinix Hot 6 Pro is the Snapdragon 425 processor. Some people may argue that this is an old processor but I don’t think that is entirely a big deal, the processor was officially released in Q3 of 2016, less than 2 years ago. A snapdragon processor on an Infinix phone is all we wanted and now we have it.

Dual Camera Setup

The Infinix Hot 6 Pro comes with two cameras at the back, a 13MP one and a 2MP one. This is different from the Hot 5 from last year that had a single camera setup. The dual camera setup is to help with portrait mode and even though I the unboxing post I said it is slow, it does a good job. Portrait mode is where you are able to blur the background and keep the subject in focus.

Available for Ksh 13,699 and Ksh 15,699

The Infinix Hot 6 Pro is available in two variants, one with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage space and the other one with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage space. The 2GB model is the one that retails at Ksh 13,699 while the 3GB model retails at Ksh 15,699.

All the other specifications are the same so the RAM and storage space is what differentiates the two and results in different prices.

4000 mAh Battery

The Infinix Hot 6 Pro has a massive 4,000 mAh battery that will easily last through the whole day. This is one of the things I have always loved about Infinix, they have very big batteries as no one wants to keep charging their phones every few hours. Since I got the Hot 6 Pro, I have not worried about the battery even with my heavy usage. Even with the big battery, the phone does not feel bulky or heavy.

Available on Kilimall

At the moment, the Infinix Hot 6 Pro is available on Kilimall but it should be making its way to most offline stores in the coming weeks. The phone was first available on pre-order on Kilimall but that is not the only channel the company plans to use going forward.
