Tecno quietly released an entry-level smartphone, the W4, into the market a couple of weeks after the release of Boom J8, you can read our review here. In the 5 minutes or so I spent with the device, I was not impressed. Maybe it is because I am coming from the J8 but considering the price, I might have judged it harshly.
The W4 will be competing with phones such as Infinix Hot 3 and Cubot Note S, and without diving into the details, it will have a hard time running against these devices.

Here are the specifications of the Tecno W4:

- Operating System: Android 6.0 with HiOS
- CPU: 1.3 Ghz Quadcore
- RAM: 1 GB
- Internal Memory: 16 GB (Expandable)
- Rear Camera: 8 MP
- Secondary Camera: 2 MP
- Battery Capacity: Li-ion 2500 mAh
Despite coming with such specifications and such a low price point, this is the first Tecno device to spot Android 6.0 Marshmallow with HiOS on top. I still don’t know why Tecno did not launch the Boom J8 with Marshmallow, but oh well. Let us wait for the review of Infinix Hot 3, which will be coming shortly, before you make your decision to go with the W4.
