Xiaomi makes very beautiful devices and offers them at very affordable prices making them appealing to most consumers. As part of its expansion plan, Xiaomi wants to stop by in Africa and introduce some of its world renowned devices. This is according to a report by Forbes that indicates that Xiaomi devices will officially be available in Africa by next Month (September).

Xiaomi will be represented by Mobile in Africa Limited who will act as the sole distributor of its devices in the 50 countries making up Sub Sahara Africa.

RJ van Spaandonk, the President of Mobile in Africa Limited is quoted saying “I think Xiaomi is currently the one of the most exciting mobile internet brands. It is very well suited to the needs and income levels of the emerging middle classes in Africa. There is a great need for mobile technology in Africa that is of top-notch quality but still affordable. What I found in Xiaomi is a company, and a business model, that can accommodate the needs of African consumers.”

Forbes is also reporting that Mobile in Africa is already setting up online stores in 14 countries where the phones will be available. The report did not reveal these markets but said that the company will be using the same online sales strategy that Xiaomi has tried and tested successfully in China. Commenting on this, van Spaandonk said, “The brand is a mobile internet company. It has made its name selling directly to the public through online channels. We will try and replicate that as much as possible in Africa.”

September is almost here so save some cash and get ready to grab one of Xiaomi’s smartphones when they become available.
