The very first YouTube video

If you are from this planet, which we believe you are, you have probably heard of YouTube. People use YouTube for a number of reasons: entertainment, how to videos among others. Whatever people use YouTube for; it is still the most popular video hosting site that was invented in early 2005. YouTube currently hosts millions of videos and over 13 hours of content are uploaded every minute. The first ever YouTube video was uploaded by one of the founders of YouTube, jawed Karim who is a former employee of PayPal. The video is titled me at the zoo. The video showed my Karim in a zoo talking about elephants. The video was uploaded on Saturday April 23 in 2005 at around 8:27 pm. The video is 19 seconds long and does not have the excitement of the current videos one is likely to find on YouTube. The video is perhaps meant to show people that they could upload amateur videos that revolve around their daily lives.

As most people may have thought, the video is not the most popular or even among the top 100 in terms of views because it has approximately 9 million views. The video has seen a lot of interest in it in the past four years. The video has over 62 000 comments with 57000 likes and 4000 dislikes. The first comment on the video, and technically on YouTube, is “interesting” and was left by a user named COBALTGRUV.
